For The Women We Love: A Breast Cancer Action & Caregiving Guide for Men

Aug 18, 2014 | Posted in News

Do you have a wife, mother, sister, daughter or friend who has been diagnosed with breast cancer? With the right tools, knowledge, skills and attitude every man is capable of being extremely helpful in supporting women with breast cancer. This seminar will offer insights into how to make a difference in the life of your loved one while taking care of yourself as well.

Marc Heyison, co-founder of Men Against Breast Cancer, the first national non-profit organization to provide targeted support services to educate and empower men to be effective caregivers, and author of For The Women We Love: A Breast Cancer Action Plan and Caregivers Action Guide for Men, will be our featured speaker.

This FREE seminar is open to the husbands, brothers, sons, fathers and male friends of women with breast cancer. Dinner will be provided.

Breast cancer patients are encouraged to join Jena Skelton, Art Therapy Intern, to learn how art can be incorporated as a tool for conversation and healing. Allow yourself to reflect and relax with activities that focus on stress, pain and anxiety relief and experience activities that allow you to cope with your emotional stress and worry. Not all activities involve an artistic edge. For those who are intimidated by art or don’t enjoy it, there are activities that focus on writing or just thought.

Registration required. Space is limited.
