- For Caregivers
What is a Caregiver?
Over the years, improvements with cancer treatment have enabled people diagnosed with cancer to live longer, fuller lives; and caregivers deeply share the challenges and joys associated with their loved one's cancer experience.
A cancer caregiver:
is anyone who provides physical, emotional, finical, spiritual or logistical support to a loved one with cancer.
There is a growing need to address the long term well-being of cancer caregivers, and provide them with coping strategies that improve their capacity to support their loved one and avoid burnout.
Taking care of someone with cancer can be, without question, a challenge. Caregivers need to become more effective in their role, reduce their own distress, find hope, and know that help and support is available.
